Making Herbal Oils and Herbal Tinctures Workshop
Morning: we make a bug repellent oil and a drawing liniment from plants that grow in my medicinal garden. We discuss the local wild and cultivated plants that help skin issues such as bee stings, tick bites, poison ivy rashes , stinging nettles rash and the weird things you encountered in the wild. Learn about the plants such as Plantain, Comfrey, Jewelweed, Calendula, Yarrow, St, John’s Wort, Solomon Seal and how, when to use them. We also discuss the plants that work as healing herbal oils. Discuss several methods of making herbal oils.
Lunch: Please bring your lunch. There is a refrigerator at the studio.
Afternoon: Echinacea will be in bloom and we will make an Echinacea Tincture. Discussion of making herbal tinctures. Learn which plants work well as tinctures. If people are interested we will tour the medicinal garden at SUNY Adirondack after class.
Take home: Bug Repellent oil, Bug Bite Be Gone liniment, French green Clay, Echinacea Tincture. All materials provided.
