Buy Local. Know where your hemp plants are grown. Know about the company that processes those quality hemp plants into a properely labeled preparation with clear concise directions about the dosage that is recommended for that particular hemp preparation. Most people are using an oil preparation.
Know what you are buying and how much to take. It is of upmost important to know how many mg- milligrams of CBD is in the bottle that you are using and to dosage accordingly. It is different for everyone. That’s part of the beauty of using plants. Its a co creation between you and the plants.

I have known Seth and Martha Jacobs who started Slack Hollow Farm since I moved here in the 80’s. I used to buy their vegetables at our local farmers market. The vegetables that they grew were the best in the market.

In 1983, Seth Jacobs and Martha Johnson moved to upstate New York, in the hopes owning and operating their own sustainable organic farm. Slack Hollow Farm was christened the same year, and has provided certified organic vegetables to the capital district of New York through farmer’s markets and local groceries & co-ops ever since. In the process they raised two children, Kalon and Adin, several cats, and an unreasonably large number of carrot varieties.
In 2018 Slack Hollow pared the farm crew down to the family and a collection of part-time employees in order to participate in NYS’s Industrial Hemp Pilot Program. Impressed with the potential health benefits of CBD, we elected to have our hemp processed into a product we could sell ourselves rather than to a wholesale buyer. we found a partner, David Falkowski of Open Minded Organics, and established Slack Hollow Organics in 2019.

OMO’s hemp processing lab uses ethanol extraction, (rather than CO2 or hydrocarbon-based extraction) in order to retain the fullest spectrum of cannabinoids and terpenes & maintain the complex chemical bonds between these different compounds. As David puts it, “It’s not about what we can take out but what we can leave in”. Finally- and quite important for us- David’s ethanol extraction method is organically certified.
